Maximize Your Maternity Leave. Built for Colorado Small Businesses.

Whether you’re the owner or you have a key employee expecting, I help Colorado small businesses navigate state benefits, private insurance, and everything in between. So no one has to figure this out alone.

Most maternity leave policies weren't built for you.

Large corporations have HR departments, legal teams, and benefits managers. Small businesses have you. And when you’re the one holding everything together, or when your most important employee just announced she’s pregnant (or you just saw two pink lines), the pressure is real.

You’re trying to figure out:

  • What Colorado’s FAMLI program actually covers (and whether you even qualify)
  • Whether private insurance makes sense for your situation
  • Who does the work while someone is out
  • How to keep clients from noticing the gap
  • How to welcome someone back without dropping the ball

There’s no manual for this. But I’ve built my career helping business owners with transitions like these…

nice to meet you!

Hi, I'm Alyson.

A fellow Coloradan, mom of two, and operations strategist who specializes in the areas where life and business intersect.

For the last decade I’ve helped small business owners build systems that run without them. For the last three years, I’ve focused specifically on maternity leave planning, for business owners stepping away and for small teams trying to support someone who is.

When you work with me, you’re not getting a checklist. You’re getting a partner who walks every step with you. From your FAMLI application to your first day back, I’m there.

Most maternity leave policies weren't built for you.

This is for you if…

You're a Colorado business owner who is pregnant or trying to conceive and you want to plan ahead

You're a Colorado business owner with an expecting employee and you want to do right by her and your business

You want to know every dollar of paid leave you're entitled to and actually get it

You have a small team (under 30 people) and you know that one person out can shake everything

You're done winging it and want a real plan

What We Work On Together

Here’s what Colorado maternity leave planning actually looks like.

State Benefits Navigation

I’ll walk you through Colorado’s FAMLI program, what you qualify for, how to apply, and how to time it so you don’t leave money on the table.

Private Insurance Assessment

FAMLI is a starting point. Depending on your situation, supplemental insurance may extend your coverage, increase your income replacement, or both. I help you evaluate what makes sense for your business.

Internal Policy and Team Planning

Cross-training, coverage plans, communication strategies. Your business keeps moving while someone is out.

Systems, Automations and Operations

If work currently runs through one person, we fix that before leave starts. Not after.

Return-to-Work Transition

Coming back is its own challenge. We plan the re-entry so it doesn’t feel like starting over.

“I was so stressed thinking about maternity leave and after only a month in this program I have never been so excited about a transitional period in my business. What I did NOT anticipate was the peace of mind I’d get from Aly and the community helping me solve my problems in real time. Aly is so knowledgeable and incredibly helpful with different ways of thinking while you’re a lil stuck in your head. Plus she’s so invested in all of our success. Best investment hands down!”

Lyndsay G.

I took four months off and we had our biggest revenue day!

“Aly set us up so well to be successful while I was on maternity leave. I took four months off and we had our biggest revenue day to date while I was out!!”

Ready to build a confident plan?

Apply to work with me and I’ll reach out within one business days to talk through your situation. Spots are limited. I intentionally limit the number of businesses I support so I can show up fully to make sure you get the coverage you and your team deserve.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how confident are you feeling about preparing for leave?
Are you willing to show up and do the work required to make this leave happen?
Are you a person of your word?

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is FAMLI available to self-employed business owners?

Yes, Colorado FAMLI is one of the most beneficial state programs currently operating in the United States. Everyone from an S Corp to a full-time 1099 freelancer can apply.

What if I have fewer than 10 employees?

You need a plan more than most. If one person goes out of your business for maternity leave (or if it’s you as the owner) you’re losing 10 percent of your staff. That’s a major hit to how the business operates and you’ll need a plan to cover the work, the costs, and the logistics.

How far in advance should I start planning?

As soon as possible. Every business owner I work with is eligible for the most coverage, private insurance and strategic support given more time.

Do you work with employers who aren't pregnant themselves?

Yes, I support both pregnant (and TTC) business owners and business owners who want to support their employees through maternity leave but do not have the tools yet to do so.

What does working with you actually cost?

Most businesses hire me for half a day to get a leave plan in place, update policies, enroll in FAMLI or work with private insurance. From there, we can determine the level of support appropriate for your unique situation. Hiring me for a half day costs $2,997. Everyone who has hired me for half a day has made more than their entire investment back in paid coverage or profit in their company.
